African Starvation

Famine (starvation) is when there is a severe shortage of food, therefore people starve. Starvation is caused by overpopulation, lack of food and clean water (for cooking, bathing, and drinking), drought, and slash and burn. When other countries give food to Africa, the farmers see no reason to grow crops when food is being given away, which is a huge problem. This leads to diseases, extreme hunger, and death.

 Who it Affects
Starvation is a major issue in Africa. This crisis affects mainly children and the elderly (because they don't have enough energy to get food anymore). It is hard on middle- aged people because they are trying to provide food for themselves, their children, and their other loved ones.
